Green Hills Mall is a decidedly upscale shopping mall and features some of Nashville’s most unique and exclusive shops.  It originally opened in 1955 as a strip center but became an enclosed area in the early 1980’s.  The mall houses over 90 retailer including Restoration Hardware, Nordstrom’s, Dillards, Macy’s, Cheesecake Factory, and more.

Now in Green Hills three large commercial projects that amount to more than $147 million will loom large in the area.  The largest projects include a phase of the $24 million expansion of The Mall at Green Hills, the $70 million H.G.Hill “lifestyle center on Hillsboro Pike that mixes retail and office development and the $53 million Bedford Commons, a block-long redevelopment project that will blend condominiums, offices and small businesses on Bedford Avenue.

The Bluebird Café in Green Hills is currently Nashville’s most famous listening room, a title is has held without dispute for nearly a decade.  The place is definitely close quarters with a small stage and yet the audience and entertainers alike seem to enjoy the intimacy this arrangement affords.
